Gravity Concentration

Gravity concentration is one of the most commonly used physical separation processes. Outotec provides customers complete system solutions from small-scale processes to integrated concentrator design.

Recently, Outotec pioneered process performance advances through integrated flowsheets involving both the Floatex® Density Separator and Outotec® Spirals. The new concept takes advantage of the equipment's complementary performance and is currently in application in modern iron ore, mineral sands, and glass sand plants. Often, too many stages of spirals lead to diminishing returns. The implementation of this advanced flowsheet concept brings increased separation efficiency while plant operators find a level of control and plant simplicity never before achieved.

A new generation of Outotec® washwater spirals, enabling improved recovery of fines along with higher-grade concentrates, have also been well received by our mineral processing partners.

The tried and true Wilfley® Shaking Tables, now made with durable modern day materials, are an industry standard that provide for efficient beneficiation and cleaner-stage processing in many industries such as mineral sands, precious and base metals.

We have efficient technology for separations at virtually any specific gravity. The range of gravity separation equipment suitable for laboratory, pilot, and commercial scale applications includes the following:

Outotec® Spirals
